Dr. Francisco Ortega Hammond

Hi, I’m Dr. Francisco Ortega Hammond, a general dentist with advanced training in adult care and restorative aesthetic dentistry. I’m originally from Venezuela, and I proudly carry both Venezuelan and American roots—family, culture, and heritage from both sides are an important part of who I am.

I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Universidad Santa María in Caracas, Venezuela, followed by a one-year postdoctoral residency at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. That program focused on four core disciplines in dentistry: oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and aesthetics. I then completed a two-year residency in General Practice Dentistry at Columbia University in New York City, where I received advanced training in managing complex clinical cases and interdisciplinary treatment planning.

My clinical approach centers on comprehensive treatment planning and minimally invasive restorative procedures, always with a strong focus on achieving aesthetic results and promoting long-term oral health. I believe dentistry goes beyond technical skills—it’s about empathy, communication, and building real human connections. I take pride in earning my patients’ trust, listening closely, and tailoring treatment to meet their specific needs and comfort.

Outside of the office, I enjoy an active lifestyle—I like running, swimming, working out at the gym, and spending quality time both at home and out and about. I value time to recharge on my own as well as time with my girlfriend, whether we’re traveling or checking out different coffee shops and restaurants around the city.
