Jhosdyn Barragan, DDS, is a passionate and skilled general dentist at RenovaSmiles, with four convenient locations in in Falls Church, Woodbridge, Manassas, Arlington, and Franconia, Virginia.

Dr. Barragan was born in Caracas, Venezuela, before moving to the United States and settling in Virginia during his youth. His undergraduate career was spent at James Madison University’s Honors College, where he completed a Bachelor’s in biology and wrote his thesis in organic chemistry. He then left the state to continue his studies at the world’s first dental school, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. During his training, Dr. Barragan gained a special appreciation for helping underserved communities through dental care by participating in various Mission of Mercy projects locally, as well as internationally, as one of five students chosen to partner with Medical Ministry International in Central America.

Nowadays, Dr. Barragan finds it an honor and privilege to be a part of a profession he loves and one which gives him the ability to restore not only smiles but self-confidence and quality of life in so many patients. He believes in a continuous approach to practicing dentistry – it is his passion to learn the latest techniques and master emerging technologies. Dr. Barragan has completed numerous advanced continuing education courses in recent years with a focus on implant placement, restoration, as well as minimally invasive cosmetic options. At RenovaSmiles, he works closely with the entire team, from the front desk to the hygienist and assistants, to provide individualized care and attention to your oral health care needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Barragan loves to spend time with his wife Veronica and their two goldendoodles, Murphy and Rio. Travel is a major passion of his, as he believes getting to know other cultures is an important part of personal development in life. In his downtime, he enjoys cooking, reading, organized sports, and taking his dogs hiking to local state parks.
